PLATTSBURGH — Increased promotion and better utilization of regional recreation opportunities are seen as important ways to promote community development.
Speaking at the Recreation Opportunities in Clinton County forum at the Frances and Hyman Krinovitz Recital Hall at Plattsburgh State, City of Plattsburgh Recreation Department Director Steve Peters said a task force came up with 50 ideas on the subject, ranked by impact and feasibility.
“Twenty of them deal with just promoting what we have,” he said, noting that includes seven of the top 10.
Sixteen ideas dealt with recreation facilities, seven with events and seven with programs. The No. 1 priority for facilities was expansion of the Saranac River Trail.
