PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Planning Board has approved a Historic Site Review for exterior work at the Strand Theatre.
Some of those renovations were approved after the fact, for the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts Board of Trustees that is directing the project had not known city OK was required, said board President Leigh Mundy. The theater is on the National Historic Register and so work there needs approval from state and federal agencies — the board had thought that covered all permission needed.
But approval of exterior work is required within the City’s Historic District.
